As parents in todays society, we're living in testing times. Our fast paced convenient lifestyles leave little room for this important period in our lives. Where it was once the norm, we no longer have "The Village", the tribe of trusted people able to step in as mother and father figures in times of need, our cooperative fellowship, our support network. And though undoubtedly a time of joy, it seems we often doubt ourselves in our near solitude and so we read an endless amount of parenting books, compare ourselves to societies picture perfect families and push our physical and emotional boundaries to the point of exhaustion. The village aims to be that support, to empower you to know yourself, to connect more deeply with your child, provide you with tools to ease the journey through harder times and offer opportunites to meet other parents and build your own village, for you and your children.
Learning, unlearning and relearning. With the aim to empower and to support you rather than coach you, giving you the tools to find emotional freedom and flexibility to enjoy your parenting journey and to understand, connect with and guide your child with confidence.
The Village can offer affordable support with;
- Pre-natal support
- Traumatic birth recovery
- Post natal support
- Sleep and sleep regressions
- Slings and carriers
- Breastfeeding, weaning, reflux and colic
- Childcare transitioning
- Home education and unschooling
- Behaviour and behavioural regressions - Toddler to teen
- General family dynamics
Sessions can be via telephone or video call, in your own home or via txt or email.
**Please note that I am not a psychologist. My aim is to support you through normal highs and lows of parenting, my training and experience has given me the ability to do this and to recognise what is not normal and when further help is required. When this is the case I can support you in finding a suitable therapist through your GP if necessary or through personal recommendation.
Massage and Family support can be combined.
Though once considered an alternative therapy, massage is fast becoming a recognised treatment option. It is especially beneficial for the busy body and mind, and who's body and mind is busier than a parents?
Cortisol is a very wonderful hormone, its the hormone that we use as part of our fight or flight response and it can be very helpful when we need to get stuff done. When we are stressed and under pressure constantly however, our body releases the hormone cortisol in unhealthy amounts. This really takes its toll on our bodies. Massage therapy has been shown to decrease cortisol levels in the body. Not only this, but it can also trigger feel good hormones such as oxytocin and serotonin and stimulate the production of endorphins that can act as a natural pain killer, massage also boosts the circulation of blood and nutrients around the body whilst encouraging lymph drainage, responsible for the removal of toxins from the body. Overall the mind is calmed, the body's muscles and tissues are relaxed and the immune system is boosted.
Massage for children and babies holds much the same benefits as it does for adults, helping through hard times of regression and illness.
The Village offers massage for parents, but also lessons for parents to learn how to massage their babies and children too, the focus being on nurturing touch, with consent, understanding and empathy. Baby/child massage has a profound impact between parent and child creating a sense of security and connection.

I am a parent, professional nanny and a family support therapist, with over 10 yrs experience working with special needs children and nannying for gentle parenting, home educating and high profile families. I am a qualified baby massage instructor, holistic and pregnancy massage therapist, NLP (neuro linguistic programming) practitioner and home education adviser. I also have basic training and extensive interest in child psychology and mindfulness.
It is my aim to pass on my immense passion for connecting with children and for respectful, conscious and gentle parenting. Having experienced clinical depression and difficult times in my own life, I found help in various therapies, groups and practices and since, I have become an empowered woman and mother, someone I thought at one point it would be impossible to be, but, here I am passing on my knowledge of self love and parenthood to other parents.
